THE MADHUBANI COLLECTION
THE KATHAKALI COLLECTION
The Kathakali collection has been inspired by the centuries old dance form of southern India, The Kathakali. The facial expression, heavy ornaments and colourful costumes have been depicted on the cushions using different techniques of hand embroidery and appliqué work on pure silk.
Inspired by the voluminous skirt worn by the Kathakali artists, 18m of fabric has been joined together and pleated to form the elaborate bedspread. The set uses harmony of beautiful colours & elements and contemporizes them so that this art lives day in and day out.
The National bird of India, Peacock, has inspired humans since ages, from cultural to religious beliefs, from writing tool to decorative elements in fashion and homes. This Collection is homage to this beautiful bird designed on silk with intricate work.
